A local woman faces charges after an incident that took place in October of 2018, Sault Ste. Marie police said today in a news release.

Police say they responded to an alarm call on Oct. 14, 2018 at a business in 100 block of Queen Street East. When they arrived, officers say they noticed damage to the business, but no one was inside.

Investigation identified the accused as the suspect.

She was located yesterday, and as a result, Vanessa MacKinnon, 30, was arrested and charged with break and enter and mischief under $5,000.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on June 14, 2021.
