Woman arrested after making almost $50K in fraudulent purchases: Police

Police say the 45-year-old used a former employer's bank account

Sault Police have charged Rebecca Kemp with fraud after it is alleged that she used a former employer's bank account to make $48,416 in purchases.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the fraudulent purchases took place between July 2019 and July 2020.

The 45-year-old was arrested on Thursday.

Kemp stands charged with fraud over $5,000 and scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 21.
