Woman accused of using photocopied prescription

On Jan. 13, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27-year-old Sarah Hurtubise of Edison Avenue for uttering a forged prescription.

On Jan. 13 the accused entered a local pharmacy and submitted a prescription for a narcotic. 

It is alleged that the paper was a photocopy of an old prescription pad and that the doctors signature was forged. The pharmacy staff noticed the forgery and contacted police.

The accused was arrested and charged with one count of uttering a forged document. She will appear in court on Feb. 13, 2017.
