Woman accused of break and enter on McDougald Street

In addition to theft charges, she was also issued a provincial offences notice under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act

Police have charged Megan Laird in relation to a break and enter that occurred on McDougald Street early Sunday morning.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 26-year-old accused was arrested at the scene of the break and enter shortly after 2 a.m.

Police say that at the time of her arrest, Laird was in possession of keys that were reported stolen from the residence, as well as eight bank cards that didn't belong to her.

She was held for bail court and stands charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, and eight counts of possession of a stolen credit card.

In addition the these charges, Laird was also issued provincial offences notice under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
