A 44-year-old male was taken to Sault Area Hospitals by ambulance following a single-vehicle accident at Shannon Road and Queen East around 5:20 yesterday afternoon. Ross Boyle was proceeding south on Shannon Road when the 1993 Mercury van he was driving went off the road striking a Bell Telephone box, then a light pole and coming to rest in the shrubs at 1616 Queen Street East. Fire services were called to the scene as well as extrication equipment. The van was demolished.

DANGEROUS DRIVING CHARGES LAID
43-year-old John Wainwright of 188 Bloor Street was charged yesterday with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of an accident as the result of an incident on September 26. It is alleged that Wainwright was driving his car on Manila Terrance in a manner dangerous to the public when his car spun out of control and struck a house. The driver then left the scene without reporting the accident. Court date is November 5.
