Weapons, break-in tools seized at Wallace Terrace residence: Sault Police

Four people in total were charged when police responded to a break and enter in progress early Tuesday morning

Four people have been arrested in relation to a break and enter at a Second Line West business.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says officers responded to a break and enter in progress around 3:14 a.m. on Tuesday morning and arrested three suspects.

Police report finding suspected methamphetamine and trazodone upon further search of the area.

Later that same day, a fourth suspect was arrested and charged with additional weapons and firearms charges.

On April 13, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 42-year-old Andrew Chiblow, 32-year-old Cameron McDonald and 35-year-old Nadine Nichols with break and enter.

Around 3:14 a.m. police responded to a break and enter in progress at a business in the 200 block of Second Line West. Upon arrival all accused had fled the scene but officers located them a short time later and they were arrested. Officers were unable to locate a fourth person believed to be involved in the break and enter.

A subsequent search of the area of arrest found the accused to be in possession of substances believed to be methamphetamine and trazodone, a can of bear mace and property taken from the business.

Andrew Chiblow is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited device and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2021.

Cameron McDonald is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited device, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.

Nadine Nichols is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited device and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2021.

Further investigation into the incident resulted in 22-year-old Brett Ouimet being wanted in connection with the break and enter.

Officers located Brett Ouimet around 3:12 p.m. in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace and he was arrested. Later, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace. A subsequent search of the area of arrest found the accused to be in possession of a sawed off .22 calibre rifle, ammunition for the rifle, a pellet handgun, break-in tools, a substance believed to be methamphetamine and approximately $1,100 worth of property stolen from the break and enter.

He is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break in tools, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. He was held for bail court.
