VIDEO: Police hope to identify suspect in March theft investigation

Merchandise was reported stolen from McNabb Street convenience store

Police hope to identify a suspect in relation to a theft incident that occurred on March 21.

In a news release issued today by Crime Stoppers, it is alleged that the suspect took merchandise from a McNabb Street convenience store.

Full text of the release follows:

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of theft.

On March 21, 2021 around 10 p.m., an unknown male suspect attended a convenience store in the area of McNabb Street. [It is alleged that] he selected and concealed several energy drinks in his backpack and proceeded to leave the store without paying.

The suspect is described as having long brown hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a red and black plaid jacket, black pants, running shoes, and carrying a grey backpack.
