VIDEO: Clerk threatened with knife during Wellington West robbery

Incident occurred on February 4

Police hope to identify a suspect after a store clerk was threatened with a knife during a Wellington Street West robbery that occurred on Feb. 4.

Full text of a news release issued today by Crime Stoppers regarding this incident follows:

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of robbery.

On Feb. 4, 2021 at approximately 5:13 p.m., an unknown male entered a convenience store in the 200 block of Wellington Street West.

The unknown male proceeded to threaten the store clerk with a knife and left the store on foot with approximately $350 in cash.

The suspect is described as 6 feet, wearing sunglasses, dark parka, blue beanie hat, jeans, dark brown work boots, and a light blue backpack.
