On June 5, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 62-year-old Joseph Chartrand for impaired driving.

At 4 p.m. police received a call of a vehicle stuck on a curb in the 0-100 block of St. Mary’s River Drive. Upon arrival, officers located the accused in the driver’s seat. A smell of alcohol was detected on the accused’s breath, and an open container of alcohol was in the cup holder near the driver’s seat.

Officers developed grounds to believe the accused’s ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. He was arrested and later provided two breath samples into an approved device, registering two fail results. He is charged with impaired driving alcohol and drugs and impaired driving blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 20, 2020.
