Two women facing assault charges in different incidents

On Jan. 18, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 24-year-old Angela Kierman of Andrew Street for assault.

It is alleged that on Aug. 22, 2017, the accused engaged in an argument with a male that was known to her. The argument escalated and the accused struck the victim in the face with a bag full of items. The accused then gestured to hit the victim with a liquor bottle before the victim left the area and contacted police.

On Jan. 18, officers located the accused and she was taken into custody. She will appear in court on Feb. 26, 2018.

On Jan. 17 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27-year-old Brittany Weibe of East Balfour Street for assault.

It is alleged that on the afternoon of Jan. 17 2018, the accused engaged in an argument with a female known to her. The accused then assaulted the victim by punching her in the face, knocking her to the ground and kicking her in the back of the head.

Police were contacted and the accused was soon after taken into custody. She has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on March 5, 2018.
