Female charged with failing to provide breath sample

On Feb. 17, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38-year-old Amanda Guido of Second Line West for an Impaired Driving related offence.

The accused was involved in a minor motor vehicle collision just before 10 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2017. Officers responded to the call for service and developed grounds to believe that the accused was under the influence of alcohol.

Officers demanded that the accused provide a sample of her breath into an approved roadside screening device and the accused refused to provide a sample. She was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. She will appear in court on Mar. 27, 2017.

Male charged with impaired driving

On Feb. 17, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division and Forensic Identification Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23-year-old Kaleb Demour of Durban Road for an Impaired Driving related occurrence.

It is alleged that just after 10 a.m. on Feb. 17, 2017 the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision at Bruce Street and Pim Street in Sault Ste. Marie. The accused is alleged to have fled the scene in his vehicle and later ran on foot away from that vehicle.

Officers located the accused running from the area and were able to take him into custody. Upon his arrest, the accused was found to be in an intoxicated condition.

The accused has been charged with one count of failure to remain at the scene of a collision, one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Mar. 20, 2017.
