On February 2, 2016 officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Drug Unit along with officers from Patrol Services and the Emergency Services Unit executed a drug warrant at a residence in the central area of the city.

On February 2, 2016 officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Drug Unit along with officers from Patrol Services and the Emergency Services Unit executed a drug warrant at a residence in the central area of the city. As a result of the warrant a 32-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were taken into custody without incident. Officers located a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine. At the time of the offence the male was on probation as well as release documents not to be with the female stemming from past domestic incidents.

The 33-year-old female has been charge with three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). She will appear in court on February 25.

The 32-year-old male has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance under the CDSA, one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior and three counts of breach of a release document for not remaining in his court appointed address, being within 20 metres of the female’s residence and by consuming or possessing unlawful drugs. The male will appear in bail court today.

Due to the domestic related charges in this drug warrant the names of the accused persons are not being released.
