Man faces domestic violence charges

The following are news releases from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service:

On Aug. 6, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services arrested a 34-year-old male on an outstanding warrant for a domestic violence incident.

It is alleged that on April 28, 2017 the accused engaged in an argument with his girlfriend.

The argument escalated and the accused assaulted the victim by pushing her to the ground. The accused then swung a piece of a metal bed frame towards the victim and then kicked holes in the walls of the residence.

The accused was located by police on Aug. 6 and arrested. He has been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief. He was held for WASH court.

On Aug. 6, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18-year-old Christien Tucci of no fixed address for theft.

It is alleged that on Aug. 6, the accused attended a business in the 100 block of Churchill Boulevard where he selected just over $98 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying.

The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. He has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on Sept. 18, 2017.
