Four charged after police seize purple heroin, fentanyl

BALDWIN TOWNSHIP - Four from Sault Ste. Marie face a number of serious drug charges after the Ontario Provincial Police pulled a car over on Highway 17 near Espanola.

Police responded to a traffic complaint at a business located at 329 Highway 17 and found the vehicle involved.

An investigation led to police seizing drugs suspected to be purple heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl (estimated street value over $150) and prohibited weapons (baton and bear spray). 

The vehicle was seized and impounded.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel Stevenson 28 years old, of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend Court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Stevenson was held in custody and appeared before Bail Court (video conferencing) on Sept. 8, 2020, in Sudbury. The accused remains in custody.

Krystle Nadon, 34 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - heroin, contrary to section 4(1) 0f the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA; and
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.

Nadon was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 30, 2020, in Espanola.

Dylan Marshall, 28 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose (two counts), contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code (CC); and
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.

Marshall was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 30, 2020, in Espanola.

Chelsey Hunter, 32 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  •    Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - Heroin, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.

Hunter was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 30, 2020, in Espanola.
