On February 22, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male with regards to a domestic dispute.

Male arrested for domestic-related occurrence

On Feb. 22, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male with regards to a domestic dispute.

It is alleged that after midnight on Feb. 22, 2017 the accused attended the residence of an ex-girlfriend while he was on conditions not to. The accused spoke to the female and took her cell phone before leaving. During the discussion the accused is alleged to have had several knives in his possession.

Police were contacted and it was found that the accused was on conditions that included no communication with the victim, not to attend the residence of the victim, not to possess any weapons and to remain in his residence between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The accused was arrested by officers and charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and 5 counts of breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.
