Three face theft charges in unrelated incidents

On April 18, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28-year-old Juanita Houghton of St. George’s Avenue for theft under $5,000. 

It’s alleged on April 18, 2019, the accused attended a business in the 200 block of McNabb Street selected approximately $127 worth of merchandise from store shelves and left without attempting to pay for them. 

Store security apprehended her and held her for police. Police arrived and took her into custody. She is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 27, 2019.

On April 20, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18-year-old Rune Laudadio of Blue Jay Court for theft under $5,000. 

It’s alleged in the afternoon of April 20, 2019, the accused entered a vehicle on MacDonald Avenue and took items, including a wallet. The victim reported the incident a short time later. 

Officers located the accused and took her into custody. She is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. She was held for bail court. 

On April 22, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32-year-old Jason Miskiw of Lewis Road for theft under $5,000. 

It’s alleged in the afternoon of April 22, 2019, the accused attended a business in the 200 block of Bay Street and selected approximately $180 worth of merchandise from store shelves and left the store without attempting to pay for them. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police.

Police arrived and took him into custody. He is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. He was held for bail court.
