On Nov. 24, 2018, officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22-year-old Austin Kells of Hussey Street for impaired driving related offences.
At around 7:30 a.m., officers were called to an address in the 1500 block of Queen Street East regarding a male who was unconscious in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle with the keys in the ignition. The male awoke when officers arrived and soon after it was determined that his ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The accused was taken into custody and charged with one count of having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired and one count of having care and control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Dec. 24, 2018.
