A man has been charged after police say he was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle.

In a press release issued this afternoon, Sault Police say they responded to a call of a man asleep behind the wheel of a sedan in a parking lot in the 200 block of Second Line W around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers woke the man and the accused provided two breath samples, both of which police say registered a fail.

As a result, 41-year-old David Larue of Echo Bay has been charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs and impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+).

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13, 2021.
