Sault man faces multiple counts of using stolen credit card

Police say he used a stolen card to make approximately $260 worth of purchases; five other attempted purchases were declined

On Oct. 3, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 50-year-old Charles Shaw of no fixed address for using a stolen credit card.

On Sept. 19 and 20, 2019, it’s alleged the accused used a stolen credit card and made transactions totaling approximately $260. The accused also attempted to make five other transactions, but they were all declined.

He was arrested on Oct. 3, 2019. The accused had a backpack in his possession at the time of his arrest. Inside the bag, officers found a pellet gun.

He is charged with eight counts of using a stolen credit card, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order and one count of breach of probation.

He was held for bail court.
