Sault woman accused of charging $200 on stolen bank cards

On Oct. 4, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services Unit arrested 24-year-old Megan Laird of Caledon Avenue for unauthorized use of a credit card.

On Oct. 4, 2019, police received a complaint that a vehicle was entered in the 0-100 block of Blake Street and property was taken. The complainant told police a wallet containing identification and bank cards were among the items taken. Later that day it’s alleged the accused used the bank cards to make approximately $200 in purchases.

She was located later that day and found to be in possession of the property that was reported stolen. She is charged with four counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, three counts of possession of identify documents, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

She was held for bail.
