10 p.m. update
Officers with the Investigation Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are continuing the investigation regarding the 51-year-old male that was reported missing earlier today.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. officers located the body of the missing male in the South East area of the golf course. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected at this time. The investigation will now continue in partnership with the Coroners Office

Today at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers with The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call for service regarding a missing 51-year-old male from Sault Ste. Marie in the area of the Root River Golf Course.
We would like to inform the public that the golf course will remain closed for the day as the search continues.
