Sault man with suspended license accused of impaired driving

The accused registered two readings over the legal limit, police say

On Dec. 9, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit arrested 32-year-old David Christie of Amherst Street for impaired driving. 

Around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2019 officers noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted, at which time officers noted an odor of alcohol coming from the accused. The accused provided samples into an approved instrument and registered two readings over the legal limit.  

He is charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of impaired driving - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and one count of driving while under suspension. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 20, 2020.
