On Aug. 18, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 27 year old Trevor Wyatt of Old Garden River Road for impaired driving.

In the early morning hours of August 18, 2019 officers observed the accused driving in a slow and deliberate manner in the east end of the city. Police conducted a traffic stop and learned the plates on the vehicle were not registered to a vehicle.

Officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the accused and developed grounds he was operating the vehicle while impaired. He was taken into custody. The accused provided samples into an approved instrument and registered two readings over the legal limit.

He is charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and one count of operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 7, 2019.
