Sault man charged with fraud in break-and-enter investigation

It is alleged that the accused used bank and credit cards from a wallet stolen from a vehicle to make purchases

On June 18, 2018, officers with The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Break and Enter Unit arrested 29-year-old Troy Bozowski of Great Northern Road for break and enter.

It is alleged that on May 22, the accused attempted to enter a garage in the 200 block of Hudson Street. The accused was scared off by neighbours and fled the area. It was found that earlier that day, the accused entered a vehicle that was parked in the 500 block of Wellington Street West and (allegedly) took a wallet from that vehicle.

(It is alleged that) the accused then used bank and credit cards from the wallet to make purchases totalling just under $190. Officers located the accused on June 18 and he was taken into custody.

He has been charged with:

  • One count of break and enter,
  • One count of attempted break and enter,
  • One count of theft under $5,000,
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime,
  • One count of possession/use of a stolen credit card, and;
  • Two counts of fraud

He will appear in bail court today.
