Sault man charged with drug possession, trafficking

Police say the 24-year-old allegedly had around 1.2 ounces of methamphetamine and 1.3 ounces of cocaine while in custody at the treatment centre

Sault Ste. Marie Police charged 24-year-old Christian Tucci with drug possession and trafficking on Oct. 3.

According to police, Tucci had approximately 1.2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and 1.3 ounces of suspected cocaine while in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre.

The drugs were subsequently seized by the officers. The estimated 'street value' of the seized narcotics was around $7,000.

As a result, Tucci was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (two counts).

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
