Sault man accused of striking jail guard in the face

Police say the incident took place while the accused was in custody

A 25-year-old man is being accused of striking a correctional officer while in custody.

Sault Police report that while in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre on April 29, the accused struck a correctional officer in the face.

On Tuesday, Bradley Southwind was charged with assaulting a peace officer.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 14, 2021.
