Sault man accused of stealing three bikes

He faces theft, break and enter charges

On May 26, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 29-year-old Daniel Murphy for theft under $5000.

At approximately 6 p.m. it is alleged the accused entered a garage in the 200 block of Chambers Ave. and stole a bicycle. He then rode the bicycle to Glenwood Avenue and left it there after being confronted by a resident.

He later attended the 200 block of Parkland Crescent, entered a garage and stole another bicycle.

A resident confronted him and he left the bike on Amber Street. He later attended a residence on La Chaumiere Place where he stole another bicycle and rode it to River Rd.

Officers observed the accused on River Rd. and he was arrested. He is charged with:

  • Three counts of theft under $5000,
  • Two counts of break and enter,
  • Possession of stolen property; and
  • Three counts of breach of probation.

He is scheduled to appear in court ton May 27, 2020.
