Sault man, 28, accused of brandishing a knife, throwing a chair at officers

Police say the accused refused to give the weapon to police

On Dec. 9, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit arrested 28 year old Tyson Palahnuk of Town Line Road for possession of a prohibited weapon. 

Just before midnight on Dec. 8, 2019 police were called to assist in the 700 block of Great Northern Road. Upon arrival officers conducted a search of the accused and found him to be in possession of a knife.

An officer noticed the accused with a second knife and he refused to give the weapon to police, brandished it towards them and threw a chair in their direction. 

He was arrested and charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order, and three counts of assaulting a peace officer.

He was held for bail court.
