On the 27th of August 2016 at approximately 4 a.m., City Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bush Street. Within the vehicle officers located a female driver, as well as a two other females and a male passenger. Further investigation led to officers discovering that the vehicle was stolen and as result all four parties were arrested. Isabelle Bouchard, age 25; Michael Gingras, age 25; Jolene Lenius, age 36; as well as a 17-year-old female were arrested for theft under $5,000 and each for a breach of probation for not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. The accused person will be attending court on the 3rd October 2016 to answer to these charges.
On the 27Aug16 at approximately 1:10 a.m. city police attended at 12 Second Line West, Mac's Mart, regarding a robbery call. Information provided to police that an unknown male entered the store with a knife, took cigarettes, under $50 in cash and left towards the Market Mall. The lone male was described as 5`4, 120lbs, wearing a white mask, who had a deep voice, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets. Police were unable to locate the male suspect. If anyone has information about this robbery please contact the City Police at 705-949-6300.
On August 26, 2016 at 11:30 p.m., City Police arrested and charged Derek Roberts, 36 years, of Dufferin St. with breach of recognizance. It is alleged that the accused was breaching his curfew. He will appear in court on September 26, 2016.
