On Aug. 8, 2018 officers with the Traffic Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 48-year-old Robert Howe of Malabar Street for an impaired driving related offence.

Just after 7:00 p.m. officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Fourth Line East. Officers spoke with the accused while he was operating his vehicle in that area.  Officers determined that the accused was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and conducted a roadside test.

It was later determined that the accused had a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He was charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Sept. 17, 2018.
