Police stop vehicle for fishy plates, charge two with drug trafficking

Police say the vehicle had two different license plates

A traffic stop has led to drug trafficking charges for two Saultites.

Sault police say that a vehicle was stopped on King St. on Monday afternoon because it had two different license plates.

Police say the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants.

In a press release issued today, police stated that they found the following items upon searching the vehicle and occupants:

  • 16 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Seven grams of methamphetamine
  • A digital scale
  • $695 in Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $7,100.

As a result of the investigation, both the driver, Dylan Marshall, 28, and the passenger, Krystle Nadon, 34, have been arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Marshall faces additional charges of possession of property obtained by crime, breach of probation, and driving while suspended.

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21, 2020.
