Police seize meth, fentanyl, cocaine during search

One person faces three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking

One person has been charged after officers seized suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and oxycontin during the execution of a search warrant yesterday.

As a result, 35-year-old Mark Mancuso faces three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Full text of a news release from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service follows:

On Feb. 21, 2023, officers in the Crime Suppression Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and Patrol Services charged 35-year-old Mark Mancuso with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Through further investigation a search warrant was requested and approved for the residence of the accused.

Officers attended the accused’s residence and during a subsequent search, located approximately 50 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, approximately 30 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, approximately 39 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and 18 tablets of oxycontin. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $24,227.

The accused was arrested and charged with
    •    Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x3
    •    Possession of a controlled substance
    •    Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
