Police request help in an assault investigation

Officers with the Investigation Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving an assault that occurred on Aug. 23, 2017 on Bruce Street between Albert Street East and Queen Street East.

At around 7 p.m., a lone female was walking on Bruce Street when she was confronted by an unknown male. The suspect struck the victim in the face and the victim fled the area and contacted police. 

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male between 20 and 35 years of age. He is approximately 5’ 7” tall with a medium build and short brown hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white T-shirt.
