Police find over $14K worth of suspected drugs in man's duffle bag

Police say the man jumped from a hotel window into the parking lot, causing $7,000 worth of damage

On May 21, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 28-year-old Bryan Babic of Mississauga for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

At 3:16 p.m. police were notified of an injured man in the parking lot of a hotel in the 200 block of Great Northern Road. Upon arrival officers located the accused receiving treatment by EMS. He was later transported to hospital.

Further investigation revealed the accused allegedly broke a window, causing approximately $7,000 in damage, and jumped to the parking lot. He was arrested as a result of the damage.

A subsequent search of the area found the accused to be in possession of a duffle bag with large quantities of substances believed to be narcotics. Officers located 62.2 grams of cocaine and 1552 xanax pills with an estimated street value of $14,380.

He is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and mischief over $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10, 2020.
