Police continue to search for missing Sault woman (update: located)

LaPlante is described as a vulnerable person and officers are concerned for her safety

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to advise the public that 40-year-old Kimberly LaPlante has been located in good health and is no longer considered missing.

We thank the public for their assistance in locating Ms. LaPlante.

Officers with the Investigation Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are continuing to seek the public’s assistance to locate missing person 40-year-old Kimberly LaPlante.

Ms. LaPlante was last seen in Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 3, 2017 in the area of James Street. It is known that she boarded a Greyhound Bus on Nov. 3 around 7:30 p.m. and got off of the bus in Toronto at the Toronto Coach Terminal at 610 Bay St.

She is described as a 40-year-old female that is 5’6” tall and weighs 120 pounds. 

She has green eyes and sometimes wears glasses. She has medium length dark hair that is sometimes shaved on the sides and pulled back in a ponytail. 

Kimberly LaPlante was last seen wearing a royal blue coloured windbreaker with “Final Touch” on the front left and her name “Kim” on the sleeve. She was also wearing blue jeans, black winter boots and carrying a black nylon backpack. She also has a tattoo of a chain with a rose shaped pendant on her left ankle.

This is out of character for Ms. LaPlante. She is described as a vulnerable person and officers are concerned for her safety. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ms. LaPlante is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
