One charged with assault. Two charged with possession of stolen property

In unrelated incidents, one stands accused of assault while two others are accused of possession of stolen property in this morning's report from Sault Ste. Marie Police Services.

On Oct. 15, City Police at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center regarding a complaint that a male inmate, age 28, had allegedly assaulted two employees.

Investigation revealed that on Oct. 13, 2016 the male damaged a telephone and chairs in the cell area. It is also alleged that the male assaulted one victim by biting her and the second victim had two chairs thrown at him. 

Police arrested the accused for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, mischief and breach of probation. The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court on Monday Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.

On Oct. 15, 2016, a male and female entered a local pawn shop and attempted to pawn jewelry. 

The store manager had received information earlier regarding a break and enter that had occurred and items that had gone missing. It is alleged that some of the jewelry attempting to be pawned matched some of the jewelry taken in the break and enter. 

Police attended and arrested the two accused for possession of property obtained by crime. Derek Joseph Roberts, age 37, and Chantele Adele Jolicouer, age 37, are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.
