From Friday at 6pm until this morning at 6am, police responded to 11 more nuisance bear calls in various wooded areas of the city. The animals caused no injury or damage.
From Friday at 6pm until this morning at 6am, police responded to 11 more nuisance bear calls in various wooded areas of the city. The animals caused no injury or damage.

Over the weekend, police had nine reports of theft or attempted theft of vehicles. In 5 of the 9 instances the vehicles were actually stolen and later recovered in various locations throughout the city. The remaining 4 calls were attempted thefts that resulted in damage to the vehicles.

In addition, 5 vehicles were broken into and various items stolen. You are requested to take extra care with valuables in your automobile and make sure it is locked.

A resident in the 100 block of Manitou Drive had his 4-wheel ATV stolen from his residence on Friday night. The Suzuki Quad 4 is orange in colour.

Police investigated 3 break and enters to private residences over the weekend on Bellevue Avenue, Bruce Street, and in the 2000 block of Base Line. Police are investigating.
