On Saturday the February 2, 2002 at approx. 12:52 p.m. police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Old Garden River Rd, with regards to a snowmobile motor vehicle accident. It was determined that a 1991 Chev Lumina operated by 56 year old Robert McCron of Idaho Dr. had been traveling west bound on Old Garden River Rd. when it collided with a south bound snowmobile that was crossing the road. The operator of the 1997 Ski Doo was 17 year old Daniel Paul Kreutzweiser of Old Garder River Rd. He was transported to hospital by ambulance for what was described as major injuries. The investigation is continuing.

Also, on Saturday the 2nd of Feb. at approximately 1:29 p.m. a single motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Wallace Terrace and Wilding Ave. A westbound 1994 Black GMC operated by Arthur Christie age 49 of Goulais Ave. went out of control and struck a snow bank and PUC pole.
