We hope to have an update on a car/pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday at Great Northern and Willoughby Ave. An accident at Spring and Bay Street on Saturday left two vehicles severely damaged as well as minor injuries to both drivers.

An accident at Spring and Bay Street on Saturday left two vehicles severely damaged as well as minor injuries to both drivers. A 1998 Honda Accord operated by 43-year-old Lina Girard of Pine Street was eastbound on Bay Street and collided with a 1997 Ford Explorer which was southbound on Spring Street. The Ford Explorer was operated by 53-year-old Linda Rainville of Blind River. Lina Girard was issued a ticket for a red light offence. Girard was also transported by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the sudden death of a 92-year-old Devon Road resident. Attilio Amadio was discovered by family members who had stopped to visit. There would appear to have been some sort of fire in the residence and police and fire investigators are looking at an electrical appliance that may have been the cause.
