THIEF CONFRONTED BY STORE OWNER On Saturday evening at 11:30, a young male entered the Hi Way Variety Store on Trunk Road. He was wearing a black balaclava, dark hat, and black jacket.

On Saturday evening at 11:30, a young male entered the Hi Way Variety Store on Trunk Road. He was wearing a black balaclava, dark hat, and black jacket. The suspect is approximately 5 feet 5 inches in height with a medium build. He was carrying a red baseball bat. He was confronted by the owner and the suspect fled the store. Nothing was taken and there were no injuries. The investigation continues.

TWO CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING
Police investigated an accident at 6:42am Saturday morning on Market Street. It is alleged that an eastbound vehicle operated by Gregory Belleau, age 24, of Garden River crossed over to the wrong side of the road. The 1991 GMC pick-up operated by Mr. Belleau struck a parked 1992 green Plymouth van that was pushed into another parked vehicle that was undamaged. Both the pick-up and the van were severely damaged. There were no reported injuries. Mr. Belleau has been charged with impaired driving and will appear in court on Jan. 21.
