The RIDE program was out on the weekend. 126 cars were stopped and checked. Of those, 9 roadside tests were administered resulting in 3 impaired charges being laid. There were four break and enters reported during the weekend.

There were four break and enters reported during the weekend.

There were 26 vehicle accidents, 2 of which resulted in personal injuries. Charges were laid in both these accidents.

In the first, Michael Brunton, age 46, of 1012 Wellington East was charged after he failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of Queen West and Andrew Street. The second driver, Alfred Turco, age 82, was treated for minor injuries as was a passenger in Mr. Brunton's vehicle.

Police charged Brady Spencer, age 22, of 165 Leacock Street, Blind River, with impaired driving causing bodily harm and driving while his licence was suspended.. This accident involved three vehicles. The accused lost control while driving on Wellington East and collided with an on-coming car. He was then struck by another vehicle. Spencer will appear in court on Jan 21
