Man faces slew of weapons charges

The accused pulled a gun and threatened to shoot the victim, police say

Sault Ste. Marie Police say they've arrrested someone for robbery with a firearm after an incident that took place earlier this week.

Police say that on or around July 1, 2020, the accused entered a residence of a person they knew. The victim, however, didn't know the accused was in their home. While attempting to rob them, the accused assaulted the victim, striking them multiple times, pulled a handgun and pointed it at the victim and threatened to shoot them.

Officers began an investigation into the incident and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

He was located at 3:14 p.m. on July 14, 2020 in the 200 block of Second Line W., and arrested without incident.

As a result, Zachary Bisaillon, 29 years old, was arrested and charged with:

  • robbery with a firearm,
  • using a firearm while committing an offence,
  • careless use of a firearm,
  • pointing a firearm,
  • two (2) counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • carrying a concealed weapon,
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon,
  • possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
  • possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
  • unlawfully in a dwelling,
  • threatening death,
  • aggravated assault; and
  • forcible confinement.

He was held for bail court.
