Man charged with impaired after vehicle gets stuck in a snowbank on Wellington

Officers say they found the accused in the driver's seat with the engine running

On Jan. 14, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 29-year-old Matthew Mallette-Edwards of Morin Street for impaired driving. 

Just after 12 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2020 officers responded to a call regarding a vehicle stuck in a snow bank on Wellington Street West. When officers arrived the accused was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with the [engine] running.

Officers detected alcohol on his breath. The accused provided a breath sample into an approved device and registered a reading over the legal limit. 

He was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He is scheduled to appear in court on March 2, 2020.
