On May 27, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 25-year-old Shawn Fortier for impaired driving.

Just after 8 p.m. officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light and turn onto Queen St. E. without signaling. A traffic stop was conducted. At this time, the vehicle rolled back and hit the cruiser on two occasions. Upon approaching the vehicle, the accused was located in the driver’s seat. Officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by drugs.

He was arrested and later completed a Drug Recognition Evaluation and registered a fail result. He is charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 6, 2020.
