Man charged after victim stabbed in the neck: Sault Police

Accused faces with aggravated assault and weapons charges

A 41-year-old Sault man is facing charges after an August 28 incident, where a victim was stabbed in the neck and transported to hospital with serious injuries.

In a press release issued today, police say the accused attended the residence of someone known to him, where an altercation took place. After the victim was stabbed, police say, the accused fled the area and the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, police requested a warrant. The accused was located yesterday and arrested.

Lionel Taylor was charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was held for bail court and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 17, 2021.
