Police release name of driver charged following Algoma Mortgage crash

On Sept. 7, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 25-year-old Cheyenne Pine of Base Line Road for impaired driving.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 officers received a call that someone had driven a truck into a business at the corner of Queen Street West and Gore Street. Police responded and found the accused receiving treatment from Emergency Medical Services. Upon speaking with the accused, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him. 

He was taken into custody. He is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2019.
