On June 24, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26-year-old Brooks Warmignton of no fixed address for theft.

It is alleged that the accused attended a business in the 600 block of Great Northern Road and selected $12.95 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying.

The accused then crossed the street and took a portable stereo valued at $220 from a vehicle that was parked there. The accused fled the area and was located a short time later.

He was taken into custody and it was found that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a theft on May 29, 2018 where he is alleged to have stolen approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise from a business in the 200 block of Bay Street.

The accused has been charged with 3 counts of theft under $5,000, 2 counts of possession of stolen property and 3 counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on July 30, 2018.
