SAULT STE. MARIE CITY POLICE
On June 16th, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male as a result of a domestic violence incident.
It is alleged that on June 15th, 2017 the accused engaged in an argument with his girlfriend. The argument escalated and the accused kicked the victim in the side of the head and then head-butted her before threatening to kill her.
Later, on June 16th, the accused is alleged to have entered the residence of a person known to him without permission. The accused soon after contacted the victim and convinced her to attend the residence. The victim attended the residence and the accused again engaged in a verbal argument with her. During the argument, the accused is alleged to have pulled the victim by the hair and then threatened to stab her with a knife. The accused is then alleged to have sexually assaulted the victim by inserting his fingers into her vagina against her will.
When the victim tried to leave the residence, the accused grabbed a knife and closed the door to prevent the victim from leaving. The victim was eventually able to leave and police were contacted.
The accused has been charged with;
- 2 counts of assault
- 2 counts of threatening,
- One count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
- One count of assault with a weapon,
- One count of sexual assault,
- One count of forcible confinement,
- One count of breach of probation, and;
- One count of break and enter
He was held for bail court.
