SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On July 8, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 36-year-old Joshua Gauthier of Second Avenue for aggravated assault.
It is alleged during a recreational soccer game the accused and another player became entangled while competing. At that time the accused struck the victim. He was ejected from the game and was asked to leave the field.
Police were called and located the accused at his home and took him into custody. He is charged with one count of aggravated assault. He is schedule to appear in court on Aug. 26, 2019.
