Local woman faces theft charges

On Dec. 18, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33-year-old Nicole Breton of Caledon Street for theft.

It is alleged that around 4 p.m. the accused attended a business in the 700 block of Pine Street where she selected just over $30 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police.

Officers attended and the accused was taken into custody. It was found that she was also wanted on outstanding warrants for theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, mischief, unlawful use of a credit card and failure to attend court. 

She was additionally charged with one count of theft under $5,000. She will appear in court on Jan. 14, 2019.
